I can die happy now...
Jan. 19th, 2009 09:55 pmI just watched The PowerPuff Girls all day (well not all day but for the majority of it and have it DVR'd).
I loved that show when I was in middle school, in fact I can still recite the opening title from memory.
Sugar....Spice...And everything nice. These were the ingredients chosen to create the perfect little girls. But Professor Utonium accidentally added an extra ingredient to the concoction...Chemical X! Thus the Powerpuff Girls were born! Using their ultra-superpowers; Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup have dedicated their lives to fighting crime and the forces of evil!
...shut up, you never know when I might need it.
It was the 10th anniversary of the show appearing on CN (when it was actually, ya know, good) so they had the Top 10 Villains and Craig McCracken's Top 10 Favorite Episodes.
My favorites were Bubbles and Buttercup...Blossom seemed like to much of a goody-goody to me (which she was to an extent). I loved the way Bubbles was so sweet and had the child-like innocence that Buttercup and Blossom didn't have and I loved how Buttercup kicked ass and knew how to throw it down.
Also my top villain on the show was HIM because they never quite came out and said that it was the Devil but you could tell from the way he wore black and red, had the stereotypical devils horns and pointed beard, and seemed to command every other villain around. My next favs were the RowdyRuff Boys (the anti-PowerPuffs) and how they were created from "Snippits, Snails, and Puppy Dogs Tails". ^-^
I completely flipped out when the PPG Movie came out in '02 and even though I didn't see it in theater's I watched it as soon as Cartoon Network showed it on TV and almost wore out the video it was recorded on. It was their origin story so we got to see how they were created, although the opening title did that for you but with the movie we got the entire story and it was fleshed out. Plus we learned how Mojo Jojo got so smart.
When I watched the episodes I felt so nostalgic for a time where I didn't worry about so many damn things, when life was somewhat simpler.
Edit:...and I now want to work on my PowerPuff fanfic again. The first fic that I ever considered writing; it was a future!fic and they were all grown up (that was about as far as I got, lol). Damn you CN! (lmao)
