Finally got around to watching 'Ark of Truth' last month; when I was sick with the flu.

It was an ok movie...the plot was nothing epic like they made it out to be and I have a few issues with it.

The main issue I had was timing. There's no way in hell that Teal'c could walk that far in such a short space of time and still give the Prior's time to torture Danel, Vala and Tomin to the point where they almost gave up plus have Sam and Cameron play superhero on the Odyssey.

Which brings up my next problem with the movie. Replicators. W.T.F.H!? I thought that this was supossed to be a movie about the Ori and not Ori and Replicators. Sure there was a flimsy enough excuse as to why the Replicator was there...but still. Although I'll admit it was funny to hear Cameron say 'Shit' and 'asshole' (It's always the quite ones).

Another point I didn't like was how Vala treated Tomin. The man's still in love with her, but I got the feeling that she never really loved (as in head over heels, crazy for) him. To her, Tomin was simply a way of saving her ass when she found out she was pregnant with Adria. He's such a puppy that I want to hug him and never let him go.

The last plot point I didn't like was the "battle" at the end. And here I thought there was going to be a bitchin' smackdown between Morgan and Adria and all we get is glowy!lights and then nothing.

Way to cop out guys.

I'll give them that they had limited time/budget to do the movie in but still...a little smackdown wouldn't of hurt.

Something's I liked was the bit at the end where Landry said the Ark was at Area 51 (which I thought was a nod to Indiana Jones) and Cam's Trek joke. :P

Overall it was a good movie, kept me entertained but it's not up there with the orginal movie.

Now I just have to watch Continuum. Let's see if I can watch it this summer.

*pets you* Yeah, ya just gotta ignore the timing issues. I always do.

*giggles* I LOVE Cam swearing...cuz seriously--he's in the military. I don't know many of them that don't swear and honestly Southern or not...yeah the swearing cracks me up every time--as does the smack down with the Replicator.

I love the Trek joke. Poor Marks. He just wasn't prepared for Cam in charge--nor was Cam truly prepared to BE in charge. I love the little like wave and "Make it go". LOL like there's any question of what has to be done. Seriously that's what was missing from the last season of SG-1, the jokes at their own expense.

Continuum is a whole lot of WTF?! just to warn you. And you're going to need to watch it more than once...there's a lot of nice little nods and in-jokes though. :-)

but I can't! lmao. I'm sorry, but I can't put on my 'suspension of disbelief' jacket when I'm going to a movie. For me they have to make refrences to passing time otherwise I'm like 'wtf? there's no way they could go from A to B in X amount of time'.

Camron's such a closet nerd and I love him for that. What cracked me up was that my friend Katie watched it on SciFi before DVD and asked me if Cam said that word 'cause she could tell by the way they dubbed over it. I hadn't seen it then and was like, 'he didn't...did he?'

The smackdown with the Replicator reminded me of the sword fights Cameron had in 'Avalon Pt.1' and 'Camelot', the poor guy can't seem to win can he?

That's just...sad. The whole point of watching movies is to put aside your belief in some parts of reality--other wise scifi wouldn't work. Of course those laws of physics (movement)--yeah that needs to be left alone. But come on, all of Stargate wouldn't work if you didn't suspend some disbelief...since they've said that wormholes don't exist with the science we have now.

ROTFLMAO--yes! I caught that part of the movie when it was on SciFi--didn't bother watching the whole thing cuz I do have the DVD, but I love their crappy dubbing! I mean most of the channels now allow for some swearing and it's not like Scifi hasn't gotten away with "crap", "bitch", "damn" before. So I can't figure out why they dubbed "shit" and "asshole". The best crappy dubbing I've ever heard--they dubbed the "hole" of asshole and not the ass.

No poor Cam he always gets the no win fights. Gotta love his never say die attitude though. Honestly that fight was made of so much of the funny and the win that I've watched it just to see the fight again.

LOL watching Eureka at the moment--and they just paraphrased Princess Bride--I LOVE IT! ("Never go up against an Australian when Death is on the line")

ok, I guess I didn't do a very good job of clarifying my point (let's blame the 9-hour shift I pulled during the day). I love sci-fi but don't always understand the science behind it. Also I have a hell of an imagination and I can give something I don't understand a lot of room as long as it's somehow explained.

I blame (in a good way) Doctor Who, because they always give some explination (no matter how over my head it is) as to the science/reasoning behind everything. I've been spoiled by Brit sci-fi ^-^

oh, I saw a spot for Leverage this morning! I can't wait for July! ^-^

Okay I can understand wanting an explanation. *shrugs* I guess most science goes over my head and I'm kinda used to it...so I don't really worry about it.

*grins* I keep seeing spots for Leverage. I think I'm up to about six different spots for Leverage. I was keeping track, but lost count the other day...I need to go back to them. I watch TNT pretty regularly for for reruns of Angel, Charmed, and Bones (and then was home sick so was watching Las Vegas too) and they keep running them. :-) Yippee! July can't come soon enough!

I saw one that makes me hopefully we'll get more Parker/Hardison this season.
