Jul. 17th, 2009 11:22 ammassive spoilers for the episode
The episode was good and bad. It brought up some very good ethical questions as well as got dark. What is the value of human life? When confronted with it is losing some better than losing all? How can a government protect the people that have elected them but at the same time make a stand for the same people? Do the people have a right to know what their leaders talk about when it concerns their safety?
I’m confused as to who SpecialOps!Bitch is working for, because she seems to have no idea what’s going on. Although they might want to keep it compartmentalized incase the shit hits the fan (which it did) so in a way the fact that she had no idea what was going on made sense.
The politicians were Bastards and I hope they all die a painful horrible death by the time this is all over.
The back-story was good; it gave us some insight as to what happened although I refuse to believe that Jack didn’t care. Like Ianto said there’s more underneath. The moments between them were nice, although the last one was heartbreaking. Notice how Ianto said that he loved Jack but Jack didn’t say it back. I also loved how they died together.
It’s just not fucking fair.
Although I would like to argue with Ianto on the point that Jack could’ve told him about 1965. Ianto didn’t tell Jack and the others about Lisa until she tried to take over the Hub and I’m sure that there are a few other things that they haven’t shared with each other.
Torchwood isn’t going to be the same without Ianto Jones.
I have a feeling that they’re going to have Lois try to be the P.A. for T3 now and I have to say that she can never take Ianto’s place. Even if she does end up fucking Jack, it won’t be the same (you all know what I mean).
I was a mess the rest of the evening after I wached the episode.
BUT there is some good news...I GET TO SEE JOHN GREEN ON THURSDAY!!!!!
